Fun
filled weekend
Wine, some wonderfully colourful explosions
... and the question of King Andy's jewels. Never
let it be said that a weekend in Hawke's Bay is
anything but imaginative and exciting. Strollers
and shoppers and those seeking the inner-city opportunity
to ``sample'' some of the region's finest wineries
will get the opportunity when about 30 shops in
central Napier host a wine tasting occasion. Taste
the Region's Wines brings together all the best
of the grape, for CBD'ers to sample. It should be
pointed out that arriving home with a huge amount
of shopping, previously unplanned, and blaming it
on the ``occasion'' is most unwise. There would
be fireworks of course, but the best will be seen
when the City Harvest Church unleashes a dazzling
10 minute display at Park Island tomorrow night.
Music and entertainment and fun ... and if it's
wet don't despair, they will keep the powder dry
for a postponement date of November 10. Still on
the fireworks theme, and King Andy of Haumoana will
be in attendance at the great Arts in the Park Market
Day, and is eager to see a very special auction
item go under the hammer. It is a vasectomy. King
Andy, threatening to shake his crown loose, says
his crown jewels will remain intact ... but you
never know.
